New single ’1989 (Get Together)’
‘1989 (Get Together)’ is out today and is the fifth single taken from the seventh Louis La Roche studio album ‘The New Now’.
'1989 (Get Together)' is a tribute to the year 1989, the 'Second Summer Of Love', Acid House, Raves and the UK's love of House Music.
In the late 80's House Music had exploded in the UK. Records where being made in the USA and Europe but were only charting high in the UK. Acid House in particular was huge at this time and was crossing over into the mainstream. Raves were super popular as a result, and so it was branded the 'Second Summer Of Love'. Many classic dance records were born out of this time, Ten City 'The Way Love Is', Joe Smooth - 'Promised Land', Black Box 'Ride On Time'. All these records were released in 1989. In the years following, the UK goverment fought back against music deemed 'wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats', resulting in the Criminal Justice Bill, making the raves illegal. So when Louis sat down to write this song, he wanted to recapture that feeling, to experience that joy that the ravers had at that time.
‘The New Now’ is released July 31st on Ever After Records.
New single ’Chasing Moments’
‘Chasing Moments’ is out today and is the fourth single taken from the seventh Louis La Roche studio album ‘The New Now’.
‘Chasing Moments’ shows off Louis’ songwriting and love of 80’s Pop. “As I’ve grown as an artist, I’ve kept my love of Electronic music in my heart but moved towards a more Pop and contemporary sound, this song represents that beautifully.”
“I really wanted to explore the feeling of heartache whilst still not being a breakup. The anxiety, paranoia and sadness that happens just before a breakup. You’re still in a relationship but you feel it slowly falling apart. You’re losing control and watching what you built up crumble away.”
The song features guest vocals by American Singer-Songwriter HEDDIE.
‘The New Now’ is released July 31st on Ever After Records.
New single ’Hot Gossip’
‘Hot Gossip’ is out today and is the third single taken from the seventh Louis La Roche studio album ‘The New Now’.
'Hot Gossip’ is a song for the DJ's. Don’t you love when House Music gets emotional and Soulful, especially when it puts you in a trance and lifts you up? There's something about that slight sadness but also pure joy at the same time, that you just can't beat. House Music can be pretty, it can be beautiful, just like any other genre of music. Louis found a vocal sample from a 70's record and he just felt in love with how playful it was. The song came together really quickly and within a couple of days, it was done. “It's the simple songs that are the best ones, and this one just flowed out of me.”
‘The New Now’ is released July 31st on Ever After Records.

New single ’No One Really Cares’
‘No One Really Cares’ is out today and is the second single taken from the seventh Louis La Roche studio album ‘The New Now’.
‘No One Really Cares’ is a motivational song for this strange time we find ourselves in. The original demo dates back to 2022. Louis had the chords and a rough vocal melody but it didn’t fit with the music he was writing at the time. When he sat down to write this new album last year, he knew it was the right time to return to it. He remembered a wholesome meme he saw years ago that stuck with him. It was called ‘2 Ways To Look At Life’. ‘1 - Nobody gives a sh*t’ ☹️ and ‘2 - Nobody gives a sh*t!’ 😀 It seemed like the perfect message we still need today. So he wrote the song about the ever growing negativity on the internet, and how everyone’s a critic but to never let people’s words stop you from doing what you want to do. Because ultimately, in the wider world, no one really cares, and that’s a good thing. The resulting song is rooted in a Electronic and Disco space but leans heavily into the Pop world. Louis originally thought the song should be pitched for a major label artist, but in the end, he fell in love with the song and it feels like the new and old Louis meeting somewhere in the middle. It’s just another palette that this album has, plenty more to come!
‘The New Now’ is released July 31st on Ever After Records.
